Become a Peer Support Specialist with CMHA Kenora and help clients navigate their mental health journeys. Utilize your personal experiences to empower individuals toward self-determination and recovery.
As part of the Assertive Community Treatment Team, this full time, permanent position requires relevant training and a thorough understanding of mental health issues. You will be instrumental in advocating for client needs, providing them with information, and nurturing supportive relationships that promote recovery. Your unique perspective will guide clients in their journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop coping strategies with clients
• Assist with community resource navigation
• Maintain confidentiality and client safety
• Facilitate self-help program access
• Build and uphold a trustful rapport with clients
Requirements:
• At least 1 year of volunteer peer support experience
• Effective stress management strategies
• Solid knowledge of community mental health agencies
• Criminal Records Check and valid Driver’s License
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain
Contribute to meaningful mental health care with CMHA Kenora as a Peer Support Specialist.
