The team’s responsibilities and deliverables include management reporting, forecasting and planning, performance measurement and strategic business analysis.This role will manage a team of finance professionals that provide financial support, analysis, reporting, guidance and strategic advice and decision support to the Risk Management functions.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the consolidation, reporting and analysis for monthly/quarterly operating results, planning & forecasting and productivity reportingLead the development and review of presentation materials intended to communicate business results to executivesPresent insightful and relevant commentary to senior management on business results, Forecast and Plan to improve decision making. Summarize large amounts of information into meaningful key messages.Proactively identify business opportunities warranting further review and analysis; identify and assist business in solving any challengesDevelop and maintain solid and effective working relationship with Business Partners, Segment Finance, Enterprise Strategy & Decision Support, Project delivery teams and other stakeholdersManage ad hoc requests and participate in special projects/initiativesProvide thought leadership and recommendations for identifying and implementing process improvementsAct as a knowledge leader for each area’s finances and performance. Create and deliver ad-hoc analyses, special projects/reports and training as required to aid partnerDescriptionReporting to the Vice President, this position is responsible for taking a significant leadership role in the Risk management functions performance and expense management.This position requires someone with excellent people, leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to recognize issues and take practical corrective action. Proven skills in handling multiple tasks and working within specified timelines are required.
The candidate must possess excellent business acumen and be able to develop positive working relationships with the areas supported.Specific ResponsibilitiesAct as a subject matter expert for the portfolio; identify and understandrisks and challenges and make value‑added recommendations and advice.Oversee monthly analysis and reporting of expenses for the portfolio.Lead the quarterly expense forecasting and annual planning processes. Coordinate with various stakeholders and ensure a robust forecast and plan is built up, reviewed and agreed upon with the business.Develop and maintain appropriate reporting infrastructure to drive transparency around expenses.Drive a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency by ensuring productive processes, leveraging automation where appropriate.Develop and manage a team of Finance professionals capable of executing with excellence and providing meaningful financial insights.Job RequirementsUndergraduate degree in business and relevant professional designation (a CPA is preferred)10+ years of experienceProven ability to develop and maintain relationships with business partnersPeople Management experienceStrong verbal and written communicatorDemonstrates excellent judgment and professionalism when dealing with various internal partnersProven analytical and problem‑solving skillsStrong comfort level in presenting to executivesAbility to proactively follow up on identified issues and work toward resolutionHigh level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPointUnderstanding of financial reporting processes and latest tools (including Hyperion, Alteryx and Tableau)Must be able to think conceptually (“out‑of‑the‑box”) and have a high degree of attention for detail.Proficient in time management and demonstrated adaptability when changes are requiredMust be able to work with minimal supervision in an unstructured and fast‑paced environment.Assist the team in enhancements on expense automation, report centralization and standardization and other process initiatives.Who We AreTD is one of the world’s leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
