Humber River Health is looking for two volunteers to serve as Community Members on the Research Ethics Board. This position invites individuals with relevant healthcare experiences or interests in hospital-based research. As a Community Member, you'll play a crucial role in reviewing scientific studies to ensure participant protection and ethical compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review scientific research studies for ethical considerations
• Attend approximately 4 hours monthly in preparation and a 2-hour meeting
• Provide insights from diverse backgrounds and experiences




• Participate virtually via MS Teams or ZOOM meetings
• Receive training resources for effective engagement
Requirements:
• Lived experience in healthcare as a patient, caregiver, or participant
• Commitment to volunteering and attending monthly meetings
• Interest in hospital-based research and ethics
• Ability to engage with diverse perspectives
• Willingness to be trained for the current online system
