Summary of Primary Job Functions:The Executive Director will oversee the day-to‑day operations of Advokate, a non‑sectarian, not‑for‑profit organization whose mission is to create educated communities where families thrive, and babies’ lives are valued and welcomed. The Executive Director serves as an advisor to the board of directors and collaborates in creating and executing board policies and the strategic plan. They establish and sustain an effective organizational structure and staff, coordinate major activities through the Leadership Team, and appraise assigned personnel. The Executive Director is responsible for external communications and represents Advokate to regulatory bodies, other agencies, churches, donors, and the general public.Responsible To:The Board of Directors of Advokate Life & Education Services SocietyDuties and Responsibilities:General:Work with the board on strategic plan developmentAct as the key spokesperson for AdvokateExecute board‑approved policiesDirect and oversee short‑and‑long‑term strategic plansMaintain a competent and effective managerial staffProvide leadership to organization personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, and communicationFormulate and implement corrective action as neededAdministration:Ensure administrative staff remain current to the organization’s business and board directives/approvalsRecommend policy and procedural changes to the board to improve the organizationSupport governance policy issues and initiate approved recommendations or actionsEnsure compliance with government legislation, regulations,
and guidelines pertinent to Advokate’s roleMaintain an effective and cost‑effective office environmentOversee and manage all HR functionsDetermine staff training and/or equipment needs within budget allocationsSubmit required information, reports, and records to government officials or the boardDevelop and implement operational plans, policies, and goals to support strategic objectivesQualifications:Professional:Advanced degree(s) or experience in the faith‑based nonprofit sector is an assetExecutive‑level managerial experienceFinancial acumenPublic relations experienceProven fundraising experience is an assetMarketing experience is an assetPersonal:Passion for life, families, and babiesInspirational communicatorVision‑driven and highly organizedPossesses high emotional intelligenceDemonstrates high ethical behavior aligned with Advokate’s valuesCalm under pressure and able to juggle competing demandsAgreement with Advokate’s valuesApplication Instructions:Please email resume and cover letter to:The Board of

Advokate cannot sponsor work permits or visas.Location: Primary office in Abbotsford, BC. Program offices in Prince George, Langley, and Abbotsford may require travel.Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000, depending on education and experience.Search and Selection Process:The search team will establish a list of interested and qualified candidates and conduct initial phone interviews.Shortlisted candidates will meet with an interview team of Advokate stakeholders appointed by the board.
