Job Title: Finance & Accounting Specialist

Overview

We are a growing business in the battery management system (BMS) and energy storage sector, looking for a hands-on Finance & Accounting Specialist to build and manage our core financial and people operations. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a quick-paced environment and enjoys building systems from the ground up.

Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll, general ledger)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models
- Support fundraising activities, investor reporting, and financial analysis
- Compliance with Canadian tax regulations (GST, PST, corporate tax)
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors




- Support with SR&ED; tax credits and other tax incentive programs
- Coordinate with external service providers
- Assist with preparation of internal reports, presentations, and correspondence

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CPA designation or in progress is an asset
- 3+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
- Experience with accounting software and payroll systems
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple functions in a lean team
- Familiarity with incentive programs for R&D; companies is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to read/write Chinese is an asset
