About the Role
Permanent Part‑Time Occupational Therapist position with Lifemark Physiotherapy Peterborough. Work in a supportive, multidisciplinary workplace providing client‑centered care for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, veterans, first responders, and those with physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
- Apply clinical expertise in assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow‑up.
- Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments.
- Identify appropriate equipment needs and initiate recommendations.
- Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties.
- Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aids, and ongoing education to clients and families to improve function, independence and safety.
- Evaluate restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
- Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client’s chart.
- Excel in a collaborative, inter‑disciplinary team environment.
- Exercise sound professional judgment.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
- 1–3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred; newly licensed graduates accepted.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle may be required.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check may be required.
- Proof of Tuberculin (2‑Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months) may be required.
Other Requirements
- Clinical experience in brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work is an asset.
- Passion for the profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem‑solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Bilingualism—French and English—are assets.
