Enterprise Data Architect

Job Summary: The Enterprise Data Architect will develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Wholesale Lending within ICG Technology. The role involves designing enterprise‑level data architecture, guiding data governance, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

- Identify data and information needs for the wholesale lending business.
- Develop architecture, strategy, planning, and problem‑solving solutions at the enterprise level.
- Design and maintain the information architecture blueprint, data integration, and controls aligned to business strategy.
- Develop conceptual, logical, physical models and metadata solutions.
- Define model and rationalize target state architecture, socialize with key stakeholders, and conduct walkthroughs.
- Unify data concepts across front office, credit risk, servicing and reporting functions.
- Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications and data from existing systems.
- Participate in requirement engineering, working groups and collaborate with business leads, operations, SMEs, technologists and governance teams.
- Collaborate with Enterprise, Sector and Federated architecture teams and adopt recommendations.
- Incorporate data standards and implement governance model.
- Develop data flows, ownership matrixes and data lineage.
- Implement physical data models, contribute to system and operational design, and optimize for usability and performance.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members.




- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions and communicate with external parties as necessary.

Qualifications

- 6+ years of experience in data architecture, data science and/or data modeling.
- Financial industry knowledge in risk management, wholesale lending, servicing and regulatory reporting.
- Product knowledge in commercial banking, capital and investment banking and markets.
- Extensive experience with relational, hierarchical, OLTP, OLAP and Big Data concepts.
- Hands‑on relational modeling, UML modeling and metadata management tools.
- Proficiency in modeling and architecture tools such as MagicDraw, Erwin, Enterprise Architect, etc.
- Experience in modeling and building complex IT systems.
- Expertise in data management methodologies including architecture, modeling, storage, security.
- Strong understanding of data governance – defining strategy, developing goals, principles and policies.
- Prior experience with data integration, interoperability and data quality solutions.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent verbal, written and presentation abilities.
- Excellent influencing, meeting organization and facilitation skills.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in data architecture or modeling is a plus.
