If you want to work with an inclusive and collaborative team that’s striving to change the world for the better, we invite you to join us.As part of SeniorSoftware Test Engineering for Autonomous Vehicle Integrity Platform (AVIP) Diagnostics QA team, you will be part of fast‑paced, agile teams building software and innovative solutions in the ADAS and Autonomous domain. Senior Software Test Engineering ensures applications meet GM software and feature standards for functional, system, quality, performance and architecture requirements. Ability to drive advanced levels of test planning, execution and quality reporting of software applications through engagement with software developers, system stakeholders, and sustaining/integration groups. This includes the creation and implementation of both automated and manual test cases and test execution plans.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine test strategy, develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts (unit, bench, and in‑vehicle as needed)
for new and existing software featuresCoordinate various Teams for alignment on development, delivery prioritizes and issues resolutionInvestigate issues and drive continuous improvement of processes, products, methodologies, and innovationPropose and develop new test capabilities/solutions to improve testing coverageCollaborate with Software and Systems Engineers in architecting requirements, and design reviewsCreate test cases that can be executed manually when necessary, but designed and optimized to be automated; ability to write accompanying automation scripts using industry‑standard tools and coding methodologyExecute manual and automated tests, troubleshoot script and test environment issues, triage and log defects, and track progress to plan.Review test plans, test cases, and automation scripts designed by others and provide insightful feedback/assistanceTake ownership of each project, make design and implementation decisions autonomously, and mentor junior membersAverage travel requirements of 2-3 weeks a year, including travel to the USRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields6+ years of embedded software development and test experience in C and C++Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies and toolsDeep technical knowledge of ADAS system softwareProficiency in Python programming and other languages (e.G. Matlab/Simulink)Strong experience with test automation framework (e.G. Robot framework)Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectivelyAbility to investigate issues based on limited informationStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, coordination skills,
and demonstrated high level of analytical ability to resolve complex problemsExperience providing technical guidance to team membersCreative, disciplined, strong sense of responsibilityOrganizational and time management skills with a high attention to detailsExperience with GitHub, Gerrit, Jenkins, Jira, and Atlassian tool chainsMust be legally allowed to work in CanadaPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fieldsUnderstanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Advanced Driver‑Assistance (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Network, and Powertrain and their associated DiagnosticsExperience with OBDII, ISO26262 functional safety control systems and ISO14229Basic knowledge of controls theoryExperience with Machine/Deep Learning algorithmsExperience with Data Visualization and Business Intelligence tools (e.G. PowerBI)Exposure to sensors – cameras, radars, LiDARs, ultrasonics, IMUsExposure to GPU computingExposure to Automotive Platforms (Ethernet/CAN/LIN, AUTOSAR)Experience with automotive embedded controls or equivalentKnowledge of vehicle architecture, serial data communication, and hardware/software interfaces.CompensationThe salary range for this role is $104,000 to $154,000.
