POSITION OVERVIEW
This unionized position is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of jigs, fixtures, and molds. The ideal candidate is creative, motivated, takes pride in their work, and is committed to delivering high‑quality results.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Construct, maintain, and repair jigs, fixtures, and molds using machining and fabrication methods.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding and cutting.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Use standard measuring instruments and perform basic shop math.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Minimum 2 years of related machining, fabrication, or tool and die experience.
- Tool & Die Journeyperson certification or Welding/Machining certification is considered an asset.
- Experience building tubular welded construction jigs and fixtures is an asset.
- Proficiency with measuring tools and general machine shop equipment.
- Strong blueprint reading and mathematical skills.
- Basic knowledge of various metals and fabrication techniques.
