Since day one, SPS has beenintentional about building a culture that is inclusive, respectful andsupportive, with a strong focus on employee wellness and career development.POSITION OVERVIEWSurrey Police Service (SPS) is seeking a detail-oriented andmotivated Clerk 3 to join the Employee Services Section within the HumanResources & Support Division of the Corporate Services Bureau. This is anexcellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative, service-driven teamsupporting key operations and organizational priorities.Reporting to the ESS Staff Sergeant, you will perform a range ofmoderately complex clerical and administrative duties, requiring initiative,sound judgment, and the ability to work independently within establishedguidelines. Responsibilities include collecting, verifying, and entering datainto systems and spreadsheets; responding to inquiriesand providinginformation to stakeholders; and assisting team members with day-to-dayoperations.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented,
and ableto think critically while managing multiple priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment. You bring strong technical proficiency, excellent communicationskills, and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to build and maintaineffective working relationships across teams. A solid understanding of officepractices, proficiency with standard computer applications, and confidenceusing office equipment are essential for success in this role.Schedule / Hours of WorkThe anticipated schedule for this position is 7:00 to 15:00. Please note, the hours are subjectto change based on operational needs and adherence to the Collective Agreement.RESPONSIBILITIESCollecting and inputting data into software programsPreparing reports and data summaries.Preparing files and documents.Scheduling meetings and taking minutes.Assisting Sergeants and other staff in performingtheir duties, as required.Handling records, including data collection,maintenance, reconciliation, and balancing without requiring advancedaccounting techniques.Monitors and responds to email proxies and othercommunications.Explains departmental regulations and procedures.Plans and facilitates swearing-in ceremonies for swornmembers, including logistics, physical set up and takedown,
and travel tooffsite locations.QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of Grade 12, supplemented by severalcourses in word processing, office practices and computer applications.Minimum two years experience and training in an officeenvironment.Must have accurate typing speed of 40 wpm.Allapplicants must obtain, and maintain, the required standards of policesecurity clearance throughout employment with SPS.BENEFITS &COMPENSATIONSurreyPolice Service offers a comprehensive perks package, including extendedhealth and dental coverage, a defined benefit pension through the MunicipalPension Plan, generous vacation entitlements, and ongoing professionaldevelopment.
