This role focuses on physical literacy, cooperative play, and confidence-building, in alignment withHigh FiveandYMCA HealthyChild Standards .You will play a key role in creating safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environments that support children’s emotional, social, and physical development—helping build healthy communities through positive youth experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, implement, and actively engage children in physical activities that promote positive development and healthy lifestylesCreate inclusive, safe, and supportive environments that foster learning and belongingDeliver child-centered, development-based programming for school-age youthComplete required administrative duties,



including:Communication with familiesProgram documentationRegistration supportAccurate attendance trackingBuild and maintain positive relationships with children, families, staff, and external partnersModel YMCA values and leadership competencies while contributing to a positive team environmentConsistently comply with YMCA policies, child safeguarding standards, provincial requirements, and health & safety regulationsUse a variety of teaching techniques, including modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcingPlan and assess indoor and outdoor learning environments that support emotional and social developmentRespond to parent and staff concerns in a timely and skilled mannerCommunicate program highlights and challenges with the Site Lead and Program ManagerEnsure hours are entered in PayWorks by established deadlinesAttend mandatory monthly staff meetingsPerform other duties as assigned by the Program ManagerQualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience (with strong references)0–2 years of childcare experience, with demonstrated skills related to the roleExperience working with children ages 4–12Ability to plan and lead games, sports, arts, crafts, cultural activities,
