Entrepreneurial to our core, our talented team members transcend obstacles into opportunities and are successfully transforming mid-market business practices.ResponsibilitiesManaging engagements related to restructuring and insolvency appointments including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, etc., including communicating with stakeholders, managing the team and attending to file issues on an as needed basis and developing resolutions.Assisting with the proposal, planning and delivery of corporate insolvency services including identifying the strategic, operational and financial challenges of a business, recommending immediate stabilizing activities, providing operational and performance improvement advice and addressing debt restructuring, refinancing or recovery needsPreparing court reports and correspondence to clients and other stakeholdersPreparing and reviewing all relevant statutory documentation associated with BIA, CCAA, Wind-Up Acts, Business Corporation Acts, etc. and ensuring all deadlines are metDeveloping relationships with special loan financiers, insolvency lawyers, business executives, etc.Networking in the local business community,
considering business development opportunities and assisting with the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet stakeholders’ needsAssisting with data analysis, review of accounting records and the development of financial modelsManaging engagement planning and scheduling as well as engagement financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)Maintaining high quality control and applying specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the businessSkills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a related field4+ years of corporate insolvency experienceCompletion of, or pursuing a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) Certification and working to become a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT)Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an assetStrong business acumen, practice development skills, commitment to excellence and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with and develop financial modelsProven people management, relationship building and leadership skillsStrong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skillsMyRewards@MNPWith a focus on high-potential earnings, MNP is proud to offer customized rewards that support our unique culture and a balanced lifestyle to thrive at work and outside of the office.
