This is a place where you can expect the unexpected.The role:12‑month contract opportunityThe Senior Data Scientist will be a pivotal member of the Enterprise Data and Analytics Team, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced analytics and AI models. The role involves building robust data models and leveraging a suite of Microsoft and other AI and data technologies to ensure solutions, accessibility, and usability across the organization.What You’ll Do:Lead, research, design, develop and implement advanced analytics and AI modelsPartner, collaborate and influence with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholdersDevelop GenAI and LLM modelsDrive and analyze large and complex, structured and unstructured data. Prepare AI‑ready data modelsProvide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to junior data scientistsEnsure the accuracy and reliability of data science models, conduct peer reviews of AI and other predictive modelsResearch and stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and AI technologiesDesign and Decisioning:Drive and lead solution design, prioritization of work and deliverables, assessment, selection, and risk management of new and emerging technologiesAdvance AI and software programming, documentation and model transparency, peer reviews of models, tools and methodology recommendations, market analysis of available modelsAdvance best practices and currency regarding the latest AI solutions and developments, availability of AI‑ready data, infrastructureCollaborate: Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand and deliver on data requirementsMentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to Data team membersWhat You Bring:Technical Skills:Experience with machine learning frameworks and data mining techniques, with cloud computing as a nice‑to‑haveProficiency in a software programming language such as PythonAdvanced knowledge of SQL Server and T‑SQL programmingExperience with PowerBI for data visualization and reportingFamiliarity with MS Fabric for data integration and managementKnowledge of programming languages such as Python or JavaNice to have: Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks,

Internal candidates are being considered as part of our standard process.Salary Range: CAD $79,100 – $118,700 annuallyCompensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.Office Location: Toronto Corporate Office with the ability to travel to our St. Catharines office as needed.
