Elevate care quality as a full-time Treatment Counsellor with Ongwanada in Kingston. Provide specialized support to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses in a multi-disciplinary team.
This temporary full time Treatment Counsellor position offers six openings for days only, focusing on assisting individuals in a transitional treatment home. Candidates will support daily living activities, monitor health conditions, and ensure data collection regarding behaviours and treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct care through trauma-informed approaches
• Assist with daily living tasks like feeding and hygiene
• Observe and report physical or behavioural changes
• Manage and administer prescribed medications accurately
• Implement behaviour support plans and treatment strategies
Requirements:
• Graduate of DSW, B.S.T, or a related field
• CPR/First Aid certification; crisis intervention training
• Valid G Driving License for transportation duties
• Experience with dual diagnosis and aggressive behaviours
• Strong communication and observational skills
