Join the City of Burlington as a part time Music Director for the Burlington Junior Redcoats and Student Theatre. This role demands expertise in conducting and leading youth bands while engaging the community.
This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Program Instructor in the Recreation, Community & Culture department, starting September 2026. You will lead rehearsals, select music, and coach band members aged 9-13. Your responsibilities will include event planning and collaboration to enhance community involvement, along with managing rehearsals and performances scheduled regularly throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Select and program music for band performances
• Assist in organizing parades and community events
• Support rehearsals and facilitate collaborations with local groups
• Oversee band member recruitment and training
• Respond to participant inquiries and manage registrations
Requirements:
• College diploma in Music or relevant experience
• Minimum 2-4 years teaching wind bands
• Standard First Aid and CPR C certification
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Clear police record check requirement
