Take a pivotal teaching role at the University of Toronto in the Department of Sociology. As an Assistant Professor in the Teaching Stream, you will enhance educational excellence and contribute to diversity.
This full-time position, effective July 1, 2027, is aimed at candidates with a PhD in Sociology or related disciplines. Your teaching experience should include developing curriculum, preparing and delivering lectures, and creating engaging online materials. Candidates are expected to have solid sociological research skills and experience in both large lectures and small discussion courses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach large and small classes in sociology
• Develop curriculum and online lecture materials




• Engage in pedagogical inquiry and scholarly activities
• Contribute to departmental teaching and service load
• Support equity and diversity in the academic environment
Requirements:
• PhD in Sociology or related area
• Proven excellence in teaching
• Experience with curriculum development
• Strong skills in sociological research methods
• Commitment to diversity and equity values
