Become a Youth Outreach Settlement Worker at Newton Youth Hub in Surrey, BC, supporting the successful integration of vulnerable newcomer youth ages 13-24. Use case management to empower youth in key life areas.
This full-time role requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. You'll provide outreach support while building comprehensive service plans that address the unique challenges faced by newcomer youth. Preferred candidates will be fluent in a second language and have a strong understanding of the settlement issues impacting immigrant and refugee youth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one support and orientation on Canadian society
• Organize and lead activities tailored to participant needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and case notes
• Collaborate with community services for engagement opportunities
• Participate in presentations to promote youth programs
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience with at-risk youth
• 2-Year Diploma in Child and Youth Care or better
• Non-English second language proficiency required
• Familiarity with settlement processes for newcomers
• Strong understanding of local mental health resources
