Become a Community Advocate at Seabird Island as a Family Support Coordinator, focusing on Indigenous family resilience. This full time term role emphasizes culturally grounded resource navigation and community engagement.
In this position, you will work alongside case management teams to improve access to wellness programs and resources for families. Your focus on advocacy and cultural safety ensures that families receive the support they need in a respectful and effective manner. Both relationship-building and resource coordination are vital to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist families in understanding available resources
• Maintain accurate records of support activities
• Promote workshops and educational opportunities




• Build relationships with community members and agencies
• Respond to service requests from families and teams
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Social Work or related field
• Experience in community programs or service navigation
• Knowledge of privacy legislation and confidentiality
• Awareness of systemic barriers facing Indigenous communities
• Strong problem-solving and advocacy skills
Drive meaningful change and support families in crisis by connecting them with resources and services at Seabird Island.
