Reporting to the Vice President of the PMO, the successful candidate will demonstrate superb technical competency, work closely with the Chief Architect and Lead Developers to design and deliver innovative technologies that improve the safety and efficiency of airport operations while ensuring the highest levels of security.
As a System Engineer at Searidge you will be collaborating with a team of experienced engineers who are spearheading innovation and change to be at the forefront of technology in Aviation. Key Responsibilities
- Work with customers and project stakeholders to define, analyze, and refine system requirements and technical specifications.
- Support the design of logical and physical system architectures, including network layouts and infrastructure configurations.
- Install, configure, integrate, and test operating systems, application software, virtualization platforms, and system management tools.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, networking, and system integration issues during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Software Developers to support system design, deployment, and validation activities.
- Support the integration of distributed, containerized, and microservices-based applications.
- Develop and execute system acceptance test plans and support customer validation activities.
- Prepare customer-facing technical documentation, including design documents, installation guides, operating procedures, and training materials.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, engineering standards, and technical best practices.
- Support multiple projects concurrently and provide technical expertise for future business opportunities.
Key Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience delivering systems integration or systems engineering projects involving complex, business-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of systems integration, networking, and software deployment across Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience in at least two of the following: systems integration, systems design, or systems analysis.
- Experience translating customer requirements into technical specifications and system designs using systems engineering principles (e.g., V-Model).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (Proxmox preferred) and containerized environments, including Kubernetes and microservices architectures.
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, and network troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot software, hardware, and system-level issues during deployment and testing.
- Experience producing customer-facing technical documentation, including design documents, acceptance test plans, and technical training materials.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and project management methodologies.
- Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain Government of Canada security clearance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel for multiple weeks, 30 to 40% of the time; mainly within the United States, but occasional travel within Europe, North America, APAC region may be required.
