The Faculty of Business & InformationTechnology at Ontario Tech University invites applications from qualified individuals for a one-year, limited-term Academic Associate position teaching courses in the graduate Master of Business Analytics and AI and/or Master ofFinancial Data Analytics programs. It is envisaged that the successful candidate would be expected to teach courses relating to legal, ethical, and trust aspects of AI systems and analytics in particular.
Applicants shall possess a graduate degree, preferably a PhD or terminal degree, in Business Analytics, ArtificialIntelligence, Data Analytics, Law, Philosophy, Information Systems, ManagementScience, Digital Transformation, Financial Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in applied business analytics, AI-enabled decision-making, big data systems, digital transformation, data strategy, analytics integration, financial data analytics, and the design or implementation of data-driven business solutions. Relevant industry experience, graduate-level teaching experience, experience teaching in hybrid or online modalities, and professional certification such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), cloud/data platform certifications, or relevant analytics, AI, data engineering, or digital transformation certifications would be considered assets.

Ontario Tech is a technology-enhanced learning environment, and the candidate should have demonstrable skills in the integration of technology and AI into teaching, and be able to model those skills in their own teaching and pedagogy. Duties will include preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials and workshops, preparing and marking assignments, tests and examinations, responding to student inquiries, maintaining regular office hours, invigilating tests and examinations along with providing service to the university such as through committees. Duties may include the supervision of teaching assistant(s) or mentorship of students in case competitions.
The successful candidate will be expected to follow an 70% teaching and 20% service and 10% other workload for the year.
The Faculty is unique in Canada integrating Business and Information Technology strategically within the one faculty and offers honours undergraduate degrees in Commerce (Co-Op) with majors in OBHR, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Technology Management. Additionally, we offer a Bachelor in Information Technology, with majors in Networking and Security, Game Development and Interactive Media, and Technology Management. At the graduate level, we offer a Master of Business Analytics and AI (MBAI), Master of Financial Data Analytics (MFDA), Master of IT Security degree with an Artificial Intelligence focus (MITS). MSc and PhD programs in Computer Science are offered jointly by the Faculties of Business and IT, and Science. The Faculty also now offers a new PhD in Cybersecurity. This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty Association. UOIT Faculty Association collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
