To manage and supervise the payroll function at CAMH to ensure payroll transactions are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Responsibilities This role will be responsible for the reconciliation of payroll and related accounts with appropriate controls, ensuring compliance with all government legislation and corporate policies relating to payroll and human resources. The incumbent will provide leadership, mentorship and supervision for all payroll staff, assign and monitor their work accordingly, and work with the team to develop new processes to improve efficiency and compliance. This position will liaise with all levels of stakeholders within the organization and outside agencies to ensure accuracy and adherence to payroll policies and legislative requirements. The Payroll Manager will be in charge of auditing and analyzing payroll reports and overseeing the completion of year‑end requirements; this will includereconciling T4s to the general ledger and other information sources to ensure accuracy. The position will also work with Human Resources, Information Management Group (IMG), Finance and other key stakeholders to ensure CRA compliance, solve payroll‑related issues, and develop a deep understanding of the payroll system. The incumbent must maintain knowledge of current legislation, CAMH policies, collective agreements, and system requirements pertaining to earnings and deductions of employees. This position is located at the Queen Street site. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in finance and CPM (Payroll Management Certification) is required. Possessing a CHRP (HR Certification) and knowledge of MIS Guidelines (OHA) would be an asset. Seven (7) years of progressive experience in payroll, including at least five years managing a payroll team, is required. Effective communication, managerial and leadership experience within a fast‑paced, diverse team setting is required.



Demonstrated experience with problem‑solving and providing strategic solutions for systems or technical/process related issues is required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential. The successful candidate will be proficient in the use of ORACLE, PDOC, ROE Web, CSB, RBC Express, MDC Reporter and Microsoft Office 365. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset. Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $112,495.94 – $140,619.93 per year. Employees in this role may progress within the full pay range of $112,495.94 – $168,743.91 per year.
