Under the responsibility of theShipping and Receiving Manager,The Forklift Operator works independently and as part of the Shipping and Receiving team to ensure that materials are received accurately into production and finished goods are shipped accurately and on time to the customers. It is a temporarily part time position (3-6 months contract).
Wage:$24-27/hour
Main responsibilities
Perform the receiving and shipment duties of raw materials, finished products, packaging products and ingredients
Ensure the integrity of the products
Ensure that the quantities correspond to the receipt / shipment slip
Rotate products (FIFO) according to storage standards
Trucks loading/unloading
Receive the order forms and take note of the orders to be prepared during the day
Pick orders according to the productsindicatedon the order form which requires using a pallet truck or a forklift
Safe operation of forklifts, including inspection and daily maintenance of the forklift, surveyequipmentand the shunter
Respect occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures, valuable manufacturing practices (GMP, GFSI, HACCP and C-TPAT)
Work safely andmaintaina clean work environment
Comply withthe established dress code and the wearing of mandatory protective equipment
Report any dangerous situation or potential contamination to the immediate superior
Perform other related duties

Knowledge and skills sought
High school diploma
Minimum one (1)yearexperience in warehouse work, forklift driving and truck loading/unloading
Technical Skills
Valid forklift certification (required)
Strong mathematic skills for quick,accurateproduct counts
Proficiencyin spoken and written English, and knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset
Knowledge of and ability to follow HACCP & Safety standards is an asset
Personal Qualities
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within a shift
Reliable, dependable, and punctual — shift coverage is critical during harvest season
Team player withgood communicationskills; bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
Comfortable working in a physical, on-site environment (standing, moving, operating equipment)
Ability to work in cold refrigerated environment (3-4 degrees C)
