Become a Relief Children's Programmer at NYWS, where you'll facilitate impactful programs for children and youth, emphasizing trauma-informed approaches. Promote positive development through diverse and engaging activities.
As a Relief Children’s Programmer, your primary goal will be to assist in the delivery of educational and recreational activities. You'll work closely with the Manager, Programs & Services to create an inclusive, supportive workplace that addresses individual developmental needs. This role values collaboration and a trauma-informed perspective to foster healthy relationships among participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead age-relevant activities emphasizing social skills
• Create trauma-informed, inclusive learning spaces
• Engage in hands-on activities with children and youth
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of program areas
• Keep thorough documentation for compliance and improvement
Requirements:
• Completed or current studies in Early Childhood Education
• 2-3 years experience in youth programming environments
• Background in trauma-informed care strategies
• CPR and First Aid certifications obtained
• Willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check
