Lead wildfire management efforts as a Wildfire Operations Officer with Nova Scotia's Department of Natural Resources in Shubenacadie. Your expertise will drive successful wildfire coordination and operational initiatives.

This permanent role requires extensive experience in wildfire management and leadership within Incident Management Teams. You will coordinate operations at the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Center, mobilize staff, and ensure effective wildfire suppression. Your leadership and judgment will be critical in maintaining safety and efficiency during fire events.

Key Responsibilities:



• Coordinate out-of-province staff mobilization for wildfire management • Oversee daily operations of the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Center • Develop and implement wildfire pre-suppression and response plans • Lead the Incident Management Team for effective deployment • Represent Nova Scotia in wildfire operational coordination

Requirements: • Graduation from forestry technician diploma program • 6 years of related wildfire management experience • Supervisory experience in high-stress situations • Completion of S-490 Advanced Wildland Fire Behaviour course • Qualification in Incident Command System roles
