Responsibilities
Perform calculations and prepare specification and detail designs for various civil engineering projects focusing on structures but also including road construction, etc. in accordance with applicable codes and industry standards.
Collaborate with engineers to develop structural plans and specifications.
Prepare detailed drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD.
Perform calculations and analysis using software tools like MIDAS 3D
Conduct site visits to gather data and assess structural conditions
Assist in the preparation of project proposals, reports, and presentations
Work within the assigned project budget and schedule.
Review Contractor shop drawings when required.
Will report to Senior Engineer and senior management.
Will be required to perform site inspection's and at times may be required to be full time on site for upwards of 4 months.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian University.
Eligible for or in possession of Qualified Engineer License in Ontario
Preferred 1 to 5 years' experience in structural engineering.
Solid knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Midas 3D an asset.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Experience with project management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Eligible to work in Canada
Valid Class G Driver's License and possession of vehicle.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour
