Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and mechanical operations, with the ability to lead a team effectively. This role requires proficiency in various equipment operations and a solid understanding of safety protocols. As a Lead Hand, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.

Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of crew members on-site to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Operate heavy machinery including skid steers and backhoes as needed for project completion.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools, ensuring they are well-maintained and safe for use.
Provide training and guidance to team members on the proper use of power tools, hand tools, and safety practices.
Assist in digging, trenching, and other excavation tasks while adhering to safety regulations.
Collaborate with foreman to ensure timelines are met and quality standards are upheld.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues that may arise during operations, applying mechanical knowledge to resolve problems.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used throughout the project.





Qualifications
Proven experience in construction or related fields with a focus on equipment operation.
Proficiency in equipment operations and rigging techniques.
Solid mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
Familiarity with low voltage systems is an asset.
Experience using various power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
Solid communication skills to facilitate collaboration among team members and management.
Commitment to safety standards and practices in all aspects of work.
Explicit understanding of locates, job packages, and work procedures
Able to direct a team of 5 on backend duties- pipe installation, structural installs, backfilling, cable pulling

Job Types: Full time, Seasonal

Pay: $32.00-$37.00 per hour
