Senior Staff Android Developer, Checkout Applet Mobile The Checkout Applet Mobile team serves recent and existing users of the Square Point of Sale (SPOS) engine. Our mission is to refine the cart-building flows to guarantee a seamless and powerful experience for our merchants. Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of critical features within the checkout applet including building new features and updating existing critical features including item configuration screen, item search etc.
Improve the Android codebase to support onboarding workflows and diverse checkout needs within a single POS engine.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams to deliver high-quality, scalable features.
Lead efforts to converge the checkout applet across different engines, streamlining technical and product solutions.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, encouraging a culture of learning and new ideas.
12+ years of Android development experience with expertise in Kotlin or Java.
Experience architecting and leading complex Android projects at scale and cross team boundaries.
