About The Role

D-Wave is seeking a Senior Algorithms Developer to design, develop, and optimize advanced algorithms for real-world, high-impact problems. The role blends research thinking with robust software engineering practices and involves working closely with researchers, engineers, and product teams to build high-performance, production-ready algorithmic solutions, including hybrid, classical, and emerging computing approaches.

What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for complex optimization and machine learning problems
Write high-quality, well-tested, and well-documented production code
Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate ideas into scalable software
Prototype, evaluate, and improve algorithmic performance through experimentation
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and best‑practice initiatives
Stay current with state-of-the-art algorithmic and optimization techniques

About You
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience developing algorithms and production software
Strong proficiency in Python; experience with C++ or similar languages is a plus
Solid background in algorithms,



data structures, and computational complexity
Experience with optimization, machine learning, or numerical methods
Knowledge of linear algebra, graph theory, or combinatorial optimization
Ability to read, understand, and implement research papers
Experience delivering end-to-end software projects, from design to deployment
Solid problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Nice to Have
Experience with optimization solvers or ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, NumPy)
Exposure to hybrid or advanced computing paradigms
Research or applied R&D; background

The base salary for this role is targeted between 150,000 – 206,000 CAD per year with additional equity, bonus, perks, benefits, and culture offerings to be discussed during the interview process.
