The RN functions as a care provider, educator, coordinator, and advocate-helping bridge patient care between the physician and the community, while ensuring protected and effective delivery of primary healthcare.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Conducts patient assessments.
Provides health education and counseling on chronic conditions
Administers medications, injections, and immunizations safely and documents
accordingly.
Performs clinical procedures such as wound care, dressing changes, ear irrigation, and
specimen collection (urine, swabs, etc.).
Assists physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
Manages chronic disease monitoring (BP checks, glucose monitoring, peak flows, etc.).
Triages patient concerns (phone or in-person) and determines urgency of care.
Maintains accurate and timely charting in the EMR (Electronic Medical Record).
Ensures compliance with policies, standards, and privacy regulations.
Assists in developing and updating clinic protocols and procedures.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives (infection control, patient safety, etc.).
Follow up with patients after lab results, hospital visits, or ongoing treatments.
Qualifications
Current registration and valuable standing as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Previous experience in primary care, family practice, community health, or an outpatient clinic is preferred.
Experience administering injections and immunizations and performing common clinical procedures.
Knowledge of chronic disease management, patient education, and clinical triage.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and general computer applications.
Successful completion of a criminal record check and any other required screening.

Pay: $55.00 per hour
