Job Overview A new Pharmacy is Calgary, Alberta is seeking a licensed pharmacist to serve as the pharmacy's Licensee (Pharmacist Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge). This is a foundational hire and the successful candidate will lead the pharmacy on day-to-day clinical and operational leadership once open.

Responsibilities
Dispense prescription medications with precision, adhering to medical orders and legal regulations
Provide comprehensive patient care by offering medication counseling, answering questions, and advising on proper medication use
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review prescriptions, clarify instructions, and ensure safe medication administration
Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, patient interactions, and inventory management
Monitor for potential drug interactions or contraindications, especially in pediatric and acute care cases
Educate patients about medication side effects, storage, and adherence strategies to promote health and safety
Stay current with medical terminology, pharmaceutical updates, and regulatory compliance standards to uphold high-quality care

Requirements




Valid pharmacist license in good standing with relevant licensing authorities
Proven hospital experience with a focus on acute care environments
Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding their unique medication needs
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional patient care in quick-paced clinical settings
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
