Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and preventive care strategies
Assist with orthodontic procedures and provide support for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment
Manage patient records using Cleardent or similar dental practice management software with accuracy and confidentiality
Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly environment that encourages positive dental experiences
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional customer service throughout each appointment
Experience
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in Alberta
Proven experience working in a quick-paced dental office environment
Proficiency in Cleardent or comparable dental software for scheduling, charting, and record management
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health conditions
Solid customer service skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients of all ages
