Role Description The Interior Design Specialist is a full-time, in office role based in Edmonton, AB. This role is responsible for creating inspiring, functional room settings and home furnishing solutions that reflect IKEA’s range and design principles. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, developing interior design concepts, and selecting furniture and finishes that meet customer needs and commercial goals.

The Interior Design

Specialist collaborates with sales,



visual merchandising, and other teams to ensure consistent brand expression across the store. The role also involves engaging with customers, providing design advice, and supporting planning for range changes, store layout updates, and special displays.

Qualifications

Ability to plan and optimize interior spaces using strong Space Planning skills.

Proficiency in Interior Design, including concept development, layout, and styling.

Knowledge of Furniture solutions and FF&E; (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection and coordination.

Clear and qualified Communication skills for collaborating with teams and supporting customers.

Education in interior design or a related field, or equivalent experience in residential or commercial interiors.

Familiarity with design tools or CAD software and comfort working with floor plans and technical drawings.

Solid customer focus, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

Ability to work on-site, adapt to a rapid-paced retail environment, and collaborate in diverse teams.
