Duties
Assist farm manager with daily farm operational activities
Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely to support irrigation systems and maintenance tasks
Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting pipes, valves, and sprinklers to ensure proper water distribution
Perform routine maintenance on farm machinery and equipment to keep operations running smoothly
Use basic math skills to measure and record crop yields, application rates, and other farm data
Conduct regular inspections of the bog for pests, disease, or structural issues, reporting findings promptly
Assist with heavy lifting of supplies, fruit bins, or equipment as needed in a protected manner
Always keep the work site and farm clean
Experience
Prior experience working on a farm or in horticulture is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with farm machinery and power tools is advantageous
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently is a plus
Basic understanding of irrigation systems and horticultural practices is beneficial
Solid physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Strong sense of urgency regarding the farm’s essential needs to sustain its production
