Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, hybrid role based in Vaughan, ON, with some flexibility to work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, and developing accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment. The Estimator will solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations, prepare bid proposals, and support the project team during tendering and contract award.

The role involves maintaining and updating cost databases, participating in budget reviews,



and collaborating with project managers and site personnel to refine estimates and support change order pricing. The Estimator will also assist in risk analysis, value engineering, and continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

Strong estimating and analytical skills, including experience with quantity takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and bid preparation.

Proficiency with construction estimating software and tools (e.g., Excel, digital takeoff software, project management platforms).

Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry standards.

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tenders and deadlines.

Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Previous estimating experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction in Canada is an asset.

Ability to work in a hybrid workplace, with reliability in both office and remote settings.
