About the Role The SAP Functional Consultant acts as a liaison between Business Analysts and application development. The role is responsible for translating business needs into SAP design and configuration solutions, managing requirements, and ensuring that requirements are accurately captured and communicated to the development team. Responsibilities Determine SAP design and configuration solutions that translate business needs into development requirements. Plan, manage, and validate requirements for new and existing processes, policies, and information systems. Collaborate with internal BAs, product owners and project members to identify business issues and enhancements, providing innovative solutions that improve quality and processes. Translate business requirements into development requirements and support unit testing teams in creating test conditions and expected results. Adhere to system development life cycle, project management methodology, and change‑management processes, escalating issues as necessary. Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the Project Manager or Application Manager. Provide Level‑2 support to resolve system issues impacting business operations. Identify root causes of application bugs with development teams and ensure timely resolution. Support unit and QA testing by identifying test cases and test data for system bugs and enhancements. Contribute best‑practice solutions to enhance current application systems.
Serve as on‑call support for critical system issues outside of regular business hours. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in mortgages. 2+ years of experience with SAP CML, Treasury or FICO. 5+ years of experience working on SAP projects. Experience in an Agile environment. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to integrate seamlessly with other functional consultants and team members.
