Summary: The main function of a Financial Manager is to supervise and direct analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. Â The Financial Manager would be responsible for keeping up with accounting-related policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities: Direct the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future earnings or expenses, that summarize and forecast the organizations financial position. Prepare special reports required by regulatory authorities.
Direct the organizations budgets to meet its financial goals. Oversee the investment of funds, manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities. Execute capital-raising strategies to support a firms expansion.
Oversee the firms issuance of credit, establishing credit-rating criteria, determining credit ceilings, and monitoring the collections of past-due accounts.
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Expert ability to work independently and manage ones time. Expert ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses. Expert knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data. Expert knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. An advanced degree in financial discipline is preferred. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software. 10+ years of experience
