The Plasma Processing Staff is responsible for ensuring that all sample tubes and plasma collection bottles are properly labeled, frozen, stored and packaged in the appropriate location.
Position Objective:
To ensure that all sample tubes and plasma collection bottles are labeled, frozen, stored and packaged according to standard operating procedures and in compliance with valuable manufacturing principles and quality standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Collecting samples from plasma bottles.
Separating serum from whole blood and transferring it to a suitable tube.
Freezing samples and plasma bottles according to procedures and storing them in the appropriate location in the freezers.
Segregating plasma based on test results and ensuring that hazardous waste protocols are observed.
Confirming that all sample tubes and plasma collection bottles are labeled, stored and packaged properly.
Maintaining accurate documentation of all processes including freezer maintenance and shipping/packaging manifests.
Maintaining a clean work setting.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in science or a related field.
Certification or qualification in recognized course related to laboratory work or medical laboratory sciences is an asset.
At least 1 year of related experience in the industry or medical/research laboratory is an asset.
Demonstrated analytical/problem solving abilities
Proficient in usage and handling of computers and related peripherals
