The Deputy General

Counsel will provide leadership and legal expertise to support compliance with state and federal laws for the Department. Candidates should have extensive legal experience, including conducting research, writing, and analysis on complex economic development legal topics. This position involves assisting in litigation, rulemaking, and training Department staff in legal policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and provide advice on complex topics
Assist in managing legal work across the Department
Direct litigation and administrative appeals processes




Collaborate with staff on legal policies and best practices
Provide legal training for various topics to Department staff

Requirements:
Five years of legal experience as a practicing attorney
Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Minnesota
Experience with commercial lending and complex finance transactions
Proficient in Uniform Commercial Code filings and loan enforcement
