Our Vision is to enhance skill development, wellbeing, and resilience of children, adults with development disabilities, and families.
Summary
This front-line position provides direct supports to adults with developmental disabilities to live their best life in either a day program, residential or outreach setting. A driver's license and vehicle for work purposes is required.
Responsibilities
Support people with daily living activities such as personal care and meal preparation
Support people to access the community and activities, outings, and social events
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each person’s needs and goals
Promote independence by encouraging skill development and self-advocacy
Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress
Foster respectful relationships built on trust, empathy, and encouragement
Collaborate with team members, families, and community partners to ensure holistic support
We Offer: CAFCL offers 1 week on and 1 week off schedules. A majority of the hours are evenings, including sleepovers.

Experience
Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect positively with diverse populations
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a energetic workplace
Knowledge of community resources and support services is an asset
