Reporting to senior management, the Structural Engineer will:
Perform structural calculations and prepare specifications and detailed designs in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Lead and supervise the production of structural design drawings.
Manage and deliver multidisciplinary engineering projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and professional service.
Conduct or oversee site inspections, condition assessments, and structural investigations.
Evaluate existing structures and provide recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and presentations.
Act as Contract Administrator during construction and perform site reviews as required.
Review contractor shop drawings and respond to construction-related inquiries.
Develop project budgets, proposals, and scopes of work for new prospects.
Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
Perform quality control reviews of structural engineering services.
Mentor and manage junior and intermediate engineers, technicians,
and support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is considered an asset).
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
Solid knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, and applicable standards for concrete, steel, and wood structures.
Advanced experience with structural analysis and design software.
Proficiency with AutoCAD; MicroStation experience is an asset.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in the design of concrete, steel, and wood structures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for travel to project sites.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
