Job Description-Kitchen Assistant

SimplySmart Child Care Centre & Montessori is looking for a mature and experienced person to work in the Kitchen Assistant/staff role at the Oakville- Iroquois location (QEW and Trafalgar) to help serve meals, cover lunches & prepare basic snacks. We are a childcare facility focused on a clean and secure environment for the children. The individual would be required to prepare snacks for breakfast & afternoon snack.

The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for the following:
Helping prepare breakfast & snacks and covering lunches in the classroom
Serving catered lunches
Cleaning-up the kitchen and meals & utensils
Ensuring Allergy and restriction requirements are met
Keeping accurate records as per Halton Health & Ministry of Education




Helping with the classroom when required & covering the teachers when required
Removing trash from the facility
Mopping kitchen floors
Monthly duties include cleaning the inside of the microwave.
Wiping down the inside of the refrigerator & Freezer & cleaning behind the dishwashers

We are looking for someone who wants a consistent job with consistent hours and has:

a food handling certificate
up to date Immunizations based on childcare regulations & TB test based on Ministry of Education requirements for childcare
a Criminal reference check based on Ministry of Education requirements for childcare
Experience working in a kitchen
Experience working with multiple allergies
High school diploma
able to carry 25 pounds
stand for extended periods of time

Salary is $20.00/hr to $21.00/hr
