Northumberland Ferries Limited seeks a skilled 2nd Class Engineer to ensure the safe and effective operation of our vessels. This full time role is based from Wood Islands, PE, and Caribou, NS. As a 2nd Class Engineer, you will oversee maintenance and repairs while ensuring cleanliness aboard the vessel.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you’ll supervise the engine room team and manage the maintenance of all machinery. Your experience in safety protocols and operational excellence will contribute significantly to our success. Key Responsibilities:
Monitor machinery spaces as the Engineer of the watch
Perform maintenance and inspections of equipment
Supervise operational engineers on duty
Report defects or safety issues to the Chief Engineer
Maintain accurate records and logbooks Requirements:
Valid 2nd Class Marine Engineer Certificate
Seafarer’s Medical Certificate and relevant certifications
Robust understanding of safety management systems
Proven independent and teamwork capabilities
Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status required Ensure efficient engineering operations at Northumberland Ferries while promoting safety and teamwork.
