To coordinate and oversee all aspects of resident-focused care delivery for the residents, including:
Plans assignments for self and non-registered staff.
Completes all RAI/MDS documentation and assessments, as required.
Teaches other nursing personnel, individual residents, their families and groups.
Promotes an workplace in which the health care team works cooperatively and supportively.
Communicates and documents professional practice.
Seeks out opportunities to maintain competency and to continuously learn, taking an active role in continuous quality improvement.
Reports problems to the DOC in a timely fashion.
Assumes responsibility for medication administration, narcotic control, application of treatments and dressings, transcription of Physician orders, reordering of medications, and other skills.
Provides feedback for the resident home area compatible with the overall goals of the nursing department and the Home.
Participates in the Home’s mandatory programs as per the LTCH Act and regulations.
Participates in Resident Care Conferences.
Provides direct supervision, leadership and education to Personal Support Workers (PSW), including:
Supervises the resident care in accordance with current and accepted standards.
Evaluates the care provided and participates with other nursing personnel in evaluation of resident care.
Promotes a cooperative working environment.
Facilitates team building and promotes change and innovative ideas.
Establishes and maintains good human relations with qualified and non-professional staff, residents, families, volunteers and the community.
Practices in accordance with nursing standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Provides input into the development of orientation, in-service and continuing education plans for nursing personnel.

Salary: $27.94-$32.88 per hour
