This role works closely with Business Unit stakeholders to review requirements, validate designs, create work estimates, develop software, and verify product releases. The Software Developer also works in close collaboration with the Software Development Team Lead to define and implement best practices across all phases of the software development lifecycle. This position works on projects which require in depth knowledge, using their judgement to ensure projects are adhering to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. or a related discipline5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily using Java in production environmentsExperience contributing across the full Software Development Lifecycle, with a strong focus on maintaining, enhancing, and supporting existing systems in a sustain modelStrong experience developing and maintaining Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworksExperience working with Java application servers and supporting long‑running, business‑critical applicationsExperience with containerization technologies, including building, running, and supporting Docker‑based applicationsStrong experience with front‑end development using JavaScript and TypeScript, including building and maintaining user interfaces with modern frameworks such as React and/or NextJSExperience designing, developing, and maintaining both relational and non‑relational databasesExperience using version control systems such as Git within a team-oriented team environmentExperience with build and dependency management tools such as MavenExperience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLabDemonstrated experience and enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve development efficiency, code quality, and operational supportProven ability to provide informal technical leadership through mentoring, knowledge sharing, code reviews, and peer support, particularly in sustain or support‑oriented teamsExceptionally self‑motivated and self‑directed, with strong attention to detail and accountability for production stabilityExcellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across development, QA, and business stakeholdersThis position has a starting salary range of $91,000 CAD to $95,000 CAD per year.
