Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, in office role based in Coquitlam, BC, responsible for overseeing core accounting operations and supporting financial decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing journal entries, managing general ledger accounts, performing month-end and year-end closings, and reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts. The role also involves preparing financial statements and management reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring accurate revenue and expense recognition. The Senior Accountant will help maintain internal controls, support audits and compliance activities,



and identify process improvements to enhance efficiency. Collaboration with operations, finance, and leadership teams is expected to provide insights and recommendations that support business performance.

Qualifications

- Strong financial accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support leadership decisions.
- Knowledge of accounting standards, tax principles, internal controls, and audit support practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial data.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional accounting designation (CPA) or progress toward one is an asset.
- Previous experience in a senior accounting or similar role, ideally within automotive services, manufacturing, or multi-location operations.
