Duties
Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver freight and goods to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Load, secure, and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling of all cargo
Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and heavy equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, performing basic automotive repairs if required
Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and delivery records for tracking purposes
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff,
and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
Assist with loading and unloading freight, utilizing heavy equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks as needed
Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or damage during transit or loading activities
Experience
Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating large or heavy vehicles
Familiarity with forklift operation and freight handling procedures
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair skills is highly desirable
Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
