Location: Admiral

Title: Occupational Therapist - Part Time, two shifts each week

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Formulate treatment plans for residents based on identified problems and goals
Communicate treatment plans and provide the necessary instruction to staff
Modify and revise treatment plans as required
Chart and maintain progress notes
Assist nursing and medical personnel, family and outside resources to meet resident’s needs.
Recommend equipment that is required for therapeutic purposes to maximize resident comfort, independence and safety
Provide functional feeding assessments
Order and maintain therapeutic equipment by monitoring inventory and in-servicing recent equipment as needed




Maintain confidentiality concerning residents, staff and organizational information and data
Follow up on prescriptions from external occupational therapists when new residents are admitted
Communicate with Red Cross re: ordering prescribed equipment and delivery and retrieval of equipment from Red Cross storage.

Qualifications:
Clear criminal record and vulnerable sectors check
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in occupational therapy
Current licensing with the N.S. College of Occupational Therapists
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal in English
Experience working with seniors is an asset
