Chief Mate (Watchkeeping Mate Near Coastal)

We have an opening for a Chief Mate to work on one of our vessels based primarily in Placentia Bay. This is a full time year-round position with a 3 week on/off schedule.

This is open to candidates who live in Newfoundland. A background with technologically advanced vessels and experience with ship handling is an asset. Applicants must also be willing and interested in working outdoors in a hands on roll.

Qualifications
Watchkeeping Mate Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or FM4 Certificate of Competency with relevant experience.
Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical




Valid ROC-MC (or higher certificate)
Valid MED’s
Valid Basic First Aid (or higher certificate)
Ability and willingness to do hands on work on deck.
Aquaculture experience is an asset.
AHTS, Dynamic Positioning, ROV, and Fishing Experience are considered assets.
Other seagoing experience is an asset.
Physical fitness.
Positive attitude and ability to work well with others

Candidates new to the Aquaculture sector are welcome.
