Responsibilities and Duties
Afternoon shift - 10 hours/day Monday to Thursday
Weld/fabricate in-shop with occasional in office
Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications and assembly drawings
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment (i.e. Metal-cored arc welding (MCAW))
Operate manual flame-cutting equipment
Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
Determine weldability of materials
Set up and operate welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
Supply minimal hand tools and safety boots
Operate saws, drills, and ironworkers to fabricate according to drawings
Overtime is available
Qualifications and Skills
Preferred 3 years experience in a welding / fabrication setting
Experience with all types of fabrication tools and processes preferred
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Must have an understanding of welding/fabricating
Must be capable of rigging, hoisting, and able to operate a forklift
Must be able to work independently and be a positive problem solver
Should be organized and effective and able to maintain a clean workspace
Should have competent communications skills both written and verbal
Able to understand and read a variety of measuring tools
G Class License is an asset
Comfortable in a shop or outdoor setting
Must be able to pass a CWB welder qualification test
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
