Wood’s Homes, a not-for-profit mental health center in Calgary, seeks a Youth & Family Counsellor. This role involves direct care and case management for young individuals, alongside fostering a structured workplace. You will actively contribute to their healing and well-being by developing routines, providing life skills training, and ensuring cultural engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead therapeutic interventions for youth and families
• Establish a structured environment to enhance engagement
• Teach essential daily living skills like hygiene and chores
• Develop and update individual care plans collaboratively
• Manage crises using non-abusive restraint techniques
Requirements:
• Class 5 driver’s license required
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification
• Diploma or Degree in Social Work or related field
• 2-4 years experience with vulnerable populations
• Preferred experience in child welfare or similar systems
